Happy Thursday! It’s a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

This week, we would like to share our favorite places to dine in Passyunk Square.

Passyunk Square, located in South Philly, has expanded over the past years and is now established as a fine-dining area – so much they even have their own Restaurant Week.  Especially with the warmer weather upon us, this area is a great place to head out for a relaxing dinner and evening stroll in the fresh spring air!

FOND

Dedicated to offering the best dining experience, Fond promises to make you feel as welcome as you would in a friend’s living room. Head chef Lee Styer, pastry chef Jessie Prawlucki, and dining room manager Tory Keomanivong prepare contemporary American cuisine with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Styer uses classic techniques to build complex layers of flavors creating a menu that is approachable, yet refined and interesting.

NOIR

The restaurant is only open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays. The staff is friendly and the fresh dishes certainly won’t disappoint!

STATESIDE

Stateside was voted #1 in Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurant list last year with George Sabatino as its head chef. Sabatino opened the gastropub only about a year and half ago, brought it great acclaim, and passed the kitchen off to Chef Elijah Milligan on March 11, 2013.   Stateside is a cozy atmosphere filled with rustic charm.  The menu features fine small plates and delicious and creative cocktails, changing according to season.  Milligan’s spring menu was rolled out just last week and features seared foie gras with whiskey French toast, grilled grapes and ice wine vinegar; veal sweetbreads and Stateside Stew, a stew of rotating house-made sausage, fresh fish and shellfish plus vegetables. If you have the chance to go while it’s on the menu, you must order the crispy cauliflower – it’s amazing!
