Our Dining Recommendations on South Street!

Happy Thursday! It’s a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

This week, we would like to share our favorite places to eat out on South Street.

SUPPER

Supper serves seasonal farm-direct American cuisine. They are open for dinner 7 nights a week and Brunch Saturday-Monday. They also present special menus for a wide assortment of holidays. Try their deviled eggs of the day or the cheddar and sage cheese puffs!

PERCY STREET BBQ

With over 110 craft can beers available, delicious BBQ, and lots of Bourbon; Percy St. is the perfect Philly spot to satisfy your comfort food cravings. They offer private dining space for large parties/special events and have a small bar at the entrance way. Pretty much anything on the menu is filled with mouthwatering BBQ flavor but we recommend the brisket, jalapeno skillet corn bread, and the BBQ chicken salad.

HOT DIGGITY

This hot dog joint, located in the heart of South Street takes traditional hot dogs to a level they’ve never been before. Offering toppings from all meat chili and whiz, to pineapple salsa and spicy habanero aioli, to crunchy coleslaw and creole, there is a hot dog on the menu anyone can enjoy. The reviews have already set this place above the rest. Voted Best of Philly 2012, even Food Network personality, Marc Summers, commented these are the best dogs he’s ever had!

BRAUHAUS SCHMITZ

Brauhaus Schmitz is Philadelphia’s only authentic German Bierhall and Restaurant.  The restaurant stays true to the German culture and even the waitresses are dressed up in Bavarian attire.  The staff is very knowledgeable about all the food menu items and every beer selection available.  We definitely recommend the pretzel and mustard to start off with and make sure to order the spaetzle as a side dish… and you must not forget, Das Boot!
