Philly’s Fall Shopping Guide!

With the end of summer coming up, it’s time to start looking ahead to the fall. And boy is there a lot to look forward! There’s the Pope in September, the Eagles season opener on September 14th, and the Dalai Lama in October! But what we want to talk about isn’t the buzz over limited to major visitors and football. It’s our city’s retail scene is also shaking up this fall, thanks to a flock of new stores coming to town. Here’s a preview of the shops you’ll soon see in Philly, and when to expect them!

Who: Skirt
What: Trendy-slash-preppy boutique featuring contemporary womenswear and accessories from brands like Elyse Walker, DVF, Tibi and Zimmermann.
Where: 212 South 17th Street, Rittenhouse (in the former Duxiana space).
When: September.

Who: Rikumo
What: Japanese home goods and accessories.
Where: The import shop is moving from its Callowhill location to a new “conceptual space” at 1216 Walnut Street.
When:
September.

Who: Conversion Shop
What: Handmade and custom furniture; vintage furniture and smalls; handmade artisanal goods.
Where: Old City.
When: September.

Who: Shop Sixty Five
What: Womenswear, denim and accessories from designers including Helmut Lang, IRO, Zadig & Voltaire, Sigerson Morrison and Raquel Allegra.
Where:
1921 Walnut Street, in the former Atelier Rittenhouse space (which is, by the way, totally gorgeous.)
When: September.

Who: Bloomingdale’s Outlet
What: Off-price womenswear, menswear, children’s and home goods.
Where: A 22,700-square-foot second-floor space in Center City’s Liberty Place (1625 Chestnut Street).
When: November.

Who: Kit + Ace
What:
Contemporary sportswear for men and women; apparel is made from ‘technical cashmere,’ a super-soft, machine-washable fabric. Think of it as elevated basics.
Where:
 Fishtown (though you can shop the collection now through September 30th at the Kit + Ace pop-up shop at Meadowsweet Mercantile in Old City (47 North 2nd Street).
When:
October.
