4th Of July in Philadelphia – Our Weekly Obsession

Philadelphia, the birthplace of independence, is celebrating the Fourth of July in a big way.  And – the best part about this year is that it’s on a Friday!  What better way to kick off a long weekend than with fireworks and musical performances in the best city in the country?!  The Benjamin Franklin Parkway is all set up and Philly is ready to light the skies on fire with one of the best firework shows you’ll ever see.

Celebrate America’s birthday with the “Largest Free Concert in America.” Starting at 7 p.m., The Roots, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, Aloe Blacc, Ariana Grande and Vicci Martinez will perform live on the Parkway, with actor and comedian Marlon Wayans serving as host of the event. The festivities will be covered live locally by 6ABC.

The concert with conclude with a fantastic show of colorful fireworks that will be sure to impress.  The art museum area has the best views in the city to see these, so be sure to get there early and get a spot right up front.  You won’t want to miss this.

We love America, we love fireworks, and we love Philly!  Happy 4th of July everyone!  Be safe and enjoy!
