With temperatures hitting the mid-90’s this week and into the weekend, it’s time to find the nearest body of water. Luckily for Philadelphia residents, there is no shortage of pools to take a dip in.

There are also plenty of private, member-only clubs throughout the city, but one that has gotten a lot of attention this year is The Monarch Philly. Formerly known as the North Shore Beach Club, Monarch Philly now offers daily passes as well.

Lombard Swim Club
The unassuming entrance to this pool is like the closet to Narnia. Known very well throughout Philly as the most exclusive swim club, LSC offers more than just daytime swimming. It has a full restaurant, bar, and holds events for kids and adults alike. It’s so exclusive, in fact, that there’s a waiting list. Click here to go straight to the website.

University City Swim Club
Located in West Philadelphia by 48th and Spruce, UC Swim Club is another exclusive family-friendly place to camp out during the summer. With complete renovations done in 2004, UCSC boasts 4 spectacular pools, half-court basketball, locker/changing/shower rooms, and a Dino Climber for the kids. Memberships here are exclusive as well, and there is also a wait list, but openings occasionally become available as the season goes on. For more information, click here.

Cost: When available, the cost to rent a membership is $325 for the rental fee, $600 for the first member, $290 for second member, and $145 for third member (child under 22) or $290 for third member (adult). The cost for additional family members is $145/child and $290/adult.

12th Street Gym
Adult and children swim lessons are available at this pool! Kids get a discounted membership as well at $29.95/month. Adults pay $49/month with a 12-month commitment.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center
A 10-lane pool, water slide section, and a warm water jet pool can be found at this location! There are some age requirements when it comes to using the hot tub (no one under 18), but these restrictions don’t come with the water slide, so let your inner kid out and make a splash. They also offer swim lessons, but to find out pricing, you have to head over in person as they only discuss it face to face.
