The air is crisp and the leaves are changing. This can only mean one thing for The Barach Group… it’s football season! Our team can be found cheering on the Eagles or chanting for the Penn State Nittany Lions. We love kicking back, relaxing, and spending time with our family and friends at tailgates. Read on to discover some of the best tips for a successful tailgate that we’ve compiled over the years.
Always Plan Ahead
Once you arrive at the tailgate, there’s no turning back home! Make sure you have enough drinks, hors d’oeuvres, chairs, and supplies on hand. Get a head count of who’s attending so you can ensure there’s enough food and space for everyone.
Stay Warm
As football season progresses, expect the weather to get pretty cold! Bundle up with blankets, layer clothes underneath sweatshirts, and bring a cozy cup of apple cider or hot chocolate. If you’re wondering what food items are best to serve, we’d recommend a warm dip or chili for the group. And be sure to check the weather forecast before the game, so there’s no surprises.
Dress in Team Colors
How will everyone know who you are rooting for if you don’t wear your team’s colors? Team pride can set the tone for the entire game, lifting the spirits of both the players and the fans. One of the best parts of game-day is the energy in the stands. Dress to be a part of it!
Can’t Join In Person?
While we know that not everyone can be together in-person as we continue to feel the effects of Covid-19, there’s always potential for a virtual tailgate. Send out a virtual meeting link so you can video chat with loved ones while watching the game. Make it engaging by handing out prizes that are easy to distribute virtually, such as gift cards. Have your guests guess the half-time score or vote on the best looking appetizer dish.
We hope that you find some of these tips and tricks helpful! And for those of you who are joining us on November 7 for our annual Eagles tailgate, Birdgang Bash, we can’t wait to see you! Interested in joining us? Email us for all of the details.
