Tonight– P.M. @ Penn Museum After Hours Series!
Spend a night with a 15-ton Egyptian sphinx, drink in hand, this Wednesday, November 19 at the Penn Museum, the University of Pennsylvania’s amazing trove of archaeological and anthropological art and artifacts.
The latest installment of the museum’s regularly scheduled P.M. @ Penn Museum after-hours events, Drinks with the Sphinx runs this Wednesday evening from 6 to 9:30 p.m., and begins in the Egypt Gallery — home to the monumental sphinx, which is part of one of the best collections of Egyptian architecture on display in the United States.
A spin-off of the museum’s super-popular family-friendly sleepover 40 Winks with the Sphinx, this week’s adults-oriented event takes a cue from the kids’ fun with plenty of playful activities.
Guests can take part in flashlight tours, a belly-dancing workshop, play a trivia game, engage with a special interactive mummy station, make a Turkish-style tile to take home and more.
All the while, guests can sip cocktails, wine or beer from a cash bar. Plus, admission includes one free drink (for all guests 21 and older).
Tickets, $20 for general admission, are available online and reservations are recommended.
