We hold a profound affection for this city and the myriad of places that bring life to its vibrant streets. We were honored to be awarded Philly Style Magazine’s Best of Philly Award recently, and in that same spirit of celebration, we want to showcase some cherished spots in Philly, handpicked by our team. Below, you’ll find just a glimpse of our team’s beloved destinations.
Best Coffee Shop – CNT Cafe Northern Liberties
Located in Northern Liberties, this adorable little coffee shop always has the most beautifully crafted drinks – that are both aesthetically pleasing and delicious. From a neapolitan ice cream appearing Sakura or Strawberry Latte to a Cucumber Matcha, there is always something new and unique to try – accompanied by a fresh pastry, of course.
716 N 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Best Pasta – Murph’s Fishtown
Yes, we do have an Irish Pub listed under the “best pasta” category – and for good reason! This Fishtown watering hole has arguably one of the city’s best Italian chefs, Francesco Bellastelli. If you’re debating which dish to order, we recommend Murph’s Pasta!
202 E Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125
(this one is fine to stay as is)
Best Guacamole – Cantina Feliz Fairmount
We take our dips very seriously here, and what better dip than guacamole? Catina Felix, formerly La Calaca Feliz in Fairmount has some of the best traditional and enhanced guacamole in the city! Their oven-baked nachos are also truly incredible and a must-try.
2321 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130
Maddi’s Pick Best Espresso Martini – Rouge
After extensive research, we have deduced that Rouge does in fact have the best espresso martinis in the city. With a fresh espresso shot, the perfect sweetness, an impeccable “froth” ratio and three beans – this martini is meant to accompany you on Rittenhouse any day of the week.
205 S 18th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103
Best Cocktails – 1 Tippling Place Rittenhouse
Looking for a place to grab a nightcap after dinner in center city? 1 Tippling Place has you covered. With friendly staff and an incredibly cozy ambiance (hello leather chairs and vintage couches!), this cocktail bar is unlike any other in the city. We recommend trying the Bombay Moon!
2006 Chestnut St, Philadelphia PA, 19103
Maddi’s Pick Best Vegetarian/Vegan – Monster Vegan Gayborhood
Whether you’re a meat eater or not, this is a must-visit for all. Come for the “nightmare on Spruce Street” ambiance (yes, they frequently play all of the good old-time, nostalgic spooky movies), and stay for the uniquely delicious cocktails and dishes. We encourage sharing as many plates as you can muster, as you don’t want to miss out on the seasonally changing menu.
1229 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
Best Date Night – Good King Tavern Queen Village
Serving up French Tavern dishes, Good King Tavern has reimagined French dishes with a modern twist. Bonus: After (or before) dinner, pop upstairs to Le Caveau, their James Beard Award-nominated wine bar!
614 S 7th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
Maddi’s Pick Best Happy Hour – Giuseppe and Sons Center City
There’s no happy hour like a Giuseppe and Sons happy hour. Every day of the week (yes, that includes Saturdays and Sundays) from 4-6pm, enter through the revolving door and descend down into a candlelit, moody bar. You will find delicious Italian small plates, wines, and cocktails for a fraction of their normal price with one of the best ambiances in the city.
1523 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102
Best Bagels – Korshak Bagels East Passyunk
There isn’t a weekend that goes by where there isn’t a line wrapped around Morris Street of hungry Philadelphians awaiting their hot and fluffy bagels. These delectable dough balls come in a variety of flavors from traditional plain to Cooper Sharp Long Hot with equally delicious schmears to top them with. The only thing you’ll be disappointed in is how quickly they sell out!
