This weekend is based mostly around -you guessed it- holiday-themed events! We decided to throw a yoga workshop in the mix just in case you needed some well-deserved stress- release and relaxation.
Deck the Halls
Take this rare opportunity to go inside more than a dozen decorated homes of Elfreth’s Alley, the nation’s oldest residential street. Not only does Santa make an appearance, but plan to see Ben Franklin and Dolly Madison as you enjoy provided refreshments! December 6th, 3-7 pm, Elfreth’s Alley. Buy tickets here.
Head over to Logan Square for family friendly activities that include carriage rides, a meet and greet with Santa, crafts provided by Philly Art Center, and many more! The Franklin Institute also provides some entertainment with their traveling science show “Hot and Cold”. The best part? Mostly everything is complimentary! December 6th, 10 am-2pm, Sister Cities Park. More info here.
For those of you still mourning Spruce Street Harbor, Winterfest returns for it’s second year as your answer to fun on the Delaware River. Also returning is The Lodge, offering small bites contrived by Jose Garces Events and spiked drinks. Still have some holiday shopping to get done? Art Star sets up shop here with a smaller version of their famous bazaar. This weekend especially has tons of fun planned with their tree lighting event on December 5th, and skating with Santa on December 6th and 7th. So grab a hot chocolate (spiked, if you’re so inclined), get cozy by a fire pit, and take it all in. November 28th- March 1st. Open 7 days, with varying hours. 101 S. Columbus Boulevard. More info here.
Get Lifted- An Arm Balance Playshop
Feeling the need to stretch? Head out to Bryn Mawr and check out this all-levels workshop that focuses on alignment and creative sequencing. Other focal points of the workshop are how to “lift off” and lightness in poses when hands are left on the mat. Throw in some meditation and Get Lifted promises to center your mind and body. December 7th, 12:30-3:00pm. Focus Fitness Main Line, 111 East Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr. Buy tickets here.
